Criminals Then And Now

With all the Watergate revisionism in the air following the naming of the alleged Deep Throat, one might wonder why Nixon fell and Bush still stands. After all, Bush is as criminal as Nixon, perhaps more so, coming as he does from a family of serial offenders. He's the veritable Don of the Bush Crime Family.

One thing current coverage, such as Sy Hersh's excellent slice-of-Watergate, makes clear, is that the Nixon White House was leaking like a sieve. Meanwhile, much has been made of the near-airtight nature of the Bush Crack House. Bush demands absolutely “loyalty” from his slaves and the reason is clear: they're all in on the crimes together.

Now if only a few of the rats would turn…
