Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize for doing…nothing?
That's what some critics say.
But they couldn't be more wrong. Let's look at some of Obama's very real accomplishments.
1. Said he was going to end the Iraq war, but it's not over yet.
2. Said he was going to escalate the Afghanistan war, and sure enough, he did. Looks like he's going to escalate his own personal Vietnam once again in the coming weeks.
3. Said he was going to close Guantanamo, but prisoners are still being held there.
4. He's continued many of the worst Bush polices, such as warrantless wiretapping.
5. He's protected the Bush regime torturers.
6. According to the Nobel committee, the prize was awarded in large part due to Obama's alleged effort to rid the world of nuclear weapons. Unfortunately, when given the opportunity, Obama refused to discuss the massive secret nuclear weapons stockpile belonging to Israel. Clearly, refusal to put Israel's nuclear weapons on the table for discussion impedes any effort to eliminate nuclear weapons. Additionally, this willful denial fools no one and eliminates any credibility Obama might have on this issue.
These are all serious accomplishments that show a remarkable devotion to violence, power, and the denial of justice.
Worthy of the Peace Prize? Hell no.
